Generating and Printing the Packing Slips in Bulk for B2B Orders

Our client was one of the top sellers of cannabinoid products in their most pure and potent form. They used Salesforce combined with Rootstock ERP to fulfill orders for their B2B and B2C Customers. B2B customers, they wanted to fulfill the orders in bulk and be able to generate and print the packing slips on the go.

Challenges

1. Generating the packing slips on the go for the orders in bulk and also printing them simultaneously
2. Printing the packing slips using different printers which were local to their warehouse
3. Real time checking/putting the items in the box for the orders ready for packing and adding the packing slips on the boxes

Blueflame Labs stepped in to address these challenges and provide a tailored solution for our client’s data integration needs. Here’s how we assisted them:

1. Implemented a custom solution using Rootstock transactions
2. Developed a list view to allow the users to see all the Orders ready for fulfillment and waiting for Packing Slips and mark those Orders
3. Button on the page to generate the packing slips for all the selected orders on the page.
4. Used Rootforms to generate the packing slips in bulk
5. Integrate directly using rootstock to print multiple packing slips for the selected orders out of the printer
6. Advance and fulfill the orders seamlessly

Results

Thanks to the collaboration with Blueflame Labs, using the custom solution with Rootstock transactions allowed the client to increase the speed of their fulfillment and enabled them to have a very high fulfillment rate. They were able to extend their fulfillment by using more fulfillment stations in their warehouses which were all powered using this solution.
